Aiken 2015!
March 1, 2015
Becca and her students escaped the single-digit weather here in Pennsylvania and traveled to Aiken, SC for 2 weeks in February to train and compete. The horses stayed at Sandy Hills Farm, a gorgeous facility with a training track, cross country course and show jumping field. Becca and her students enjoyed all the conveniences of home at the house Becca rented. In addition to competitions, the crew was able to audit David O’Conner’s training sessions, visit the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Farm, see the Aiken track and eat at the famous Track Kitchen for an authentic southern breakfast!
- Becca and Spy had a successful Preliminary run at Paradise Farm Horse Trials to start off their year.
- Christine and Petey ran Novice at Paradise and then finished fourth in the Training division at Jumping Branch.
- Ellen and Chance also finished fourth in their Beginner Novice division at Jumping Branch Farm.
- Zoe and Alex had an unfortunate technical elimination at Jumping Branch but an otherwise successful round!
Congratulations to everyone on a successful start to the 2015 eventing season!
